elm 327 to ecu connection failed

Post by stanislas.jespers » 12 Oct 2012, 16:38

problems with ELM327
I have a free version from multiecuscan and tried at:
Marea Weekend 1.9JTD 3pin
Ducato230 2.8 JTD 3pin
Doblo 1.3 Multijet 223 85 16pins
when I try to read the engine ECU nothing happens.
I mean, only the red light on the interface appears.
If I will connect with Doblo 1.3 Multijet 223 85 16pins service ecu then the other 4 light varying light and there is a connection.
So I suspect that there is nothing with the interface.
I have tested the interface, the result :
ALL RESPONSE are:OK
This interface is compatible with ELM327 1.4! Should connect propety with all CAN modules.
What can or should I do.
Regards
Stan.

Hello

Have you downloaded the required FTDI driver for the interface?
If your interface detected in the Control Panel without error?

The test query refers only to the CAN bus area, but your
Controls are not read by CAN.

Here you get the FTDI driver

Hello Eddy,
thanks for the reply.
Is it true that if the interface's are found during the test, the drivers for the comport are ok?
or can I do best install, the drivers you recommended, on my laptop?
what should I just install for a bluetooth ELM327 interface?
VCP Drivers or D2XX Drivers?
Greetings Stan.

Hello Stan

With these drivers I do not know modest as well, but not both drivers the same?

I installed for my Bluetooth interface no other drivers.
For me the only important is the interface to be recognized correctly.

GOOD DAY EDDY
I found the problem.
the setting of the serial port speed was too high.
namely 115.200 but it should be set on 38.400 for my configuration.
Something else.
I tried also / k line / vagcom, this remained without success.
the different k line / vagcom models had the same result: no connection. But the test of the interface was ok.
In accordance with the list would have to succeed at the engine manegement.
How can this be explained.
Greetings Stan.

Hello Stan

Is the normal way the Verbindungsgeschwindigketi has been blocked.?
I have since never have to adjust anything, I'm just the
chosen predetermined value. And is at 38400 for the ELM
When this value is OBDkey 115 200

KKL problem:
Have you asked the latency time to 1. ?

Hello guys, im newby here, million thanks for yani & for everybody who support this site/program/share the info etc...

I just bought a licensed multiecuscan and one elm 327 usb cable from ebay (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/150852545917? ... 1497.l2649), it says ver 1.4, cable test, interface, driver looks ok, engine connection ok, but nothing else, i just did an oil change what is worked, so I can reach and connect to engine only.
I know need different cable for the airbags, but i wont touch that at the moment. But the service menu is important for me and its not connecting, i uploaded a video about this: http://siscoo.biz/tmp/video0042.3gp

From the hundreds try maybe once or twice its connected to the service then after 2 secs its jumped back to the main menu.
What i did wrong? Cable connect to car connector, then to laptop`s usb, multiecuscan start, key is on without engine running... but i tried without key, key is on, with engine running. But the results was all the same.
Or maybe this cable is a cheap clone and this is why its wont running in service? The seller should change it, but maybe will be the same. I tried on Fiat Doblo Family 1.9JTD Multijet type 223.
Any advice welcome!

Thanks in advance,
Siscoo

....Update, I just catched that moment when is connecting to the service mode the after 2 secs then jumping back to the main menu (www.siscoo.biz/tmp/video0043.3gp)
RAA wroted (viewtopic.php?f=5&t=2428&p=10849#p10849) not to push in fully the connector but this not working for me :S

If you cannot connect to body computer and dashboard then in almost all cases the problem (and the fix) is as described here:

Tha Yani,

So the best if I try to sort out myself instead of sending back the cable under warranty and get a new one (what is possible same crap)?
