Re: Alfa Giulia - problem with copied key

Post by dusan147 » 30 Jul 2022, 17:21

New key was made in mentioned another key workshop (almost same as original, but without Alfa logo, key in the middle on picture in previous post).
After coding of this key and registration in Alfa immobilizer, all things works, but...
Unfortunately, today morning, after successful keyless unlocking (this new key was in my pocket) and opening of driver door, alarm activated, start of engine was blocked and check engine light appeared. The error deleted by use of MES and all is OK. I use only original key now (on the right side of picture in previous post) and consider after all that I haven't second i.e. spare key.
Saga continues! :D
Any ideas about solution? Important remark: my Giulia has two alarms: Alfa factory and Cobra.

Hi!
So. Is that second almost original key workig correctly?
Mybe you have problem somewhere betwee your two alarms...
Try to Disable original alarm via MES...

And i have one more question: why didnt you at the first time learn 5button key with remote start?

I am apologize, but I gave wrong information.
Well, my Alfa Giulia has only one alarm system (Keetec) and new keyfob (that in the middle of picture) refuse to cooperate with it.
After unlocking/locking by use of this keyfob alarm didn't disarm/arm and my Giulia isn't protected.
All other operations (keyless entry and engine start, remote locking/unlocking, etc.) this keyfob doing well.
What kind of problem with this keyfob causes bad work with alarm?

Original key operate with original alarm, which could be enabled or disabled in proxi configuration of your car...
If original alarm is enabled , than it operate in armed status after every lock of the car via keyless or via remote button...
Of course original key cant control also keetec alarm... You need keetec remote control...

My original keyfob (right on picture) works with Keetec without any problem.
Keydiy keyfob (left on picture) worked with Keetec without problems, but has small power of signal.
Third copied keyfob (middle on picture) refuse to cooperate with Keetec.
Similar situation was with one five button keyfob (didn't work with Keetec alarm).

Do you know EXACTLY what Keetec alarm system you have and have you contacted Keetec support?

I was in contact with local alarm dealer company which previously represented and sold Keetec and they confirmed that Keetec is in my Giulia, because of blue LED indicator and characteristic sound of lock/unlock.
After that I wrote email to Keetec Slovakia (main Keetec representative) and ask for support, but without any answer.
Despite that basic question is: what is reason that KeyDiy keyfob worked with Keetec without problems, but third copied keyfob refuse to cooperate with it?

I think that KeyDIY fobik was only clone of your original key...
So it worked well but with low signal...
Alternate key is almost original OE board inside non OE shell... So it works well in car but it needs to be added to KEETEC alarm module...
Where are you from? Slovakia? Which city?

I think, but not sure, that each new keyfob can't be clone of original, but only with new own code.
In many alarm workshops with which I spoke assert that it isn't necessary to add new key to alarm system but to car's Body computer which communicates with alarm system.

Hi!
I confirm that keyless function works incorrectly with non original key on Giulia/Stelvio...
Remote start, Panic, Liftgate, Open and Close works well, but keyless no...
My key is 5-buttons type...
