Alfa Giulia - problem with copied key

Post by dusan147 » 19 Jul 2022, 17:05

I bought Giulia Veloce (2.2 210HP Q4 AT8) from
private seller, but with one keyfob only.
Copy of key (by use of KeyDiy ZB02-3, China) was made in a local key workshop
and all functions work fine, but only so-called "keyless entry"
(passive entry in Alfa) don't work.
For example, successful keyless start of engine with this copy of key works perfectly.
It is important to emphasize that this copy of key performed keyless entry few times, but no every time.
When I put hand between door and door handle (unlock gesture) LED on the key light up.
Any ideas about this issue?

HI!
Change battery in key first.
Keydiy fobik was correctly added in RFH by learning procedure or cloned from original key?

Good morning!
Battery changed since start of problems...
Keydiy fobik was correctly added in RFH by use of proper software and in key workshop dedicated for this job.
It is indicated that keydiy fobik works occasionally but without rules.
Btw, is a MES parameter "RF signal level" in subsection "Radio frequency hub (RFHUB) Continental" of section "Body"
indicator of level of RFID signal of fobik?

As is known KEYDIY fobik has lower signal as original fobik.
So maybe it is your problem - RFhub didnt recognise key in every touch of door handbar
Or sensor in handbar is wrong...
Run Door Handle verification test...

Sensor in door handle is OK and original fobik works fine with it.
As is mentioned earlier, when I approach close to the door LED in KeyDiy fobik light up but without unlock. Unlock happened few times, but not every time.
Strange thing: if signal of KeyDiy is too low, why keyless start of engine works good by use of this fobik?
Where is "Door Handle verification test" in MES?

Because internal antenna is much stronger than door antenna which identifying your fobik for keyless entry...
Keydiy fobic is only generated for use in giulia... Maybe this is the problem why it cant working correctly everytime...

There is two antennas in rear left and right doors (No. 1 and 2) and I can bring KeyDiy fobik close to the driver side rear door antenna and try to perform passive entry operation. One thing more... many users had problems with original Alfa fobik and passive entry as a consequence of low car battery status and therefore I can check the car battery status in MES.

Well, you was right about very low signal of KeyDiy fobik.
Only when I put KeyDiy fobik on the surface of rear door I have "passive entry" always!
Unfortunately, it isn't solution even for second key.
Btw, today I found local key workshop in which guys have copy of Alfa original key and promised 100% compatibility for all actions.
