Need help with connecting to Airbag ECU

Post by gerchooo » 25 Aug 2021, 15:33

Hello there guys.
I have Fiat Punto MK1, 1998, 1.2, 16V, 86HP.
I have been trying to connect to the Airbag ECU with no luck.
I have the diagnostic cable shown in the picture (links down below) (with 4 position switch for Engine, Airbag, ABS an one more) + 3 pin adapter with external power and MultiEcuScan Registered version 4.8.
I am able to connect to Engine ECU with no problem, but when I try the Airbag ECU - the software always says: No response from ecu.
I want to clear an Airbag Error (airbag dashlight is on - very annoying) witch I triggered accidentally.
Could you guys provide me with some help?
Do I need another cable and is this the correct port (shown in the picture).
How can I connect to the sad Airbag ECU...

you can try to use trw2scan utility - sometimes this works better on older TRW airbag ECUs. also sometimes those old ECUs just die and you won't be able to connect.

Thanks mate. I will try this software.
I don't think the ecu died, i just tripped the light and want to clear it.
It all happend when i was replacing the bulbs on the dashboad, but i left the car on contact and when i removed the airbag bulb i cut the power line so that the ecu thinks there is a problem.
