Alfa Romeo Giulia Continental ABS MK C1

Post by Italia-Tec » 03 Oct 2020, 18:44

Hi Forum,

Recently I tried to connect to the Continental ABS MK C1 of a Alfa Romeo Giulia 2.0 Veloce 2017 with my multiplexed version 4.6R1 and got the message to use adapter 6 (Gray) which I don't have. Does this sound correct as I thought the adapters were for non multiplexed versions, I don't mind purchasing said adapter if that's what is required.

Just to add I didn't have any issues connecting to the engine control module!

Could anyone help or advise on this please.

Kind regards,

Matt.

Someone else has reported a similar adapter requirement.

The Gray adapter is the latest new requirement for some vehicles. This means (I think) that earlier versions of Cantiecar/Multiplexed interfaces do not currently support the later pin switching required.

Before purchasing a cable I would get in contact with your interface manufacturer to see if there is a firmware update available.

My Multiplex MES connects to the ABS unit of my Giulia Quadrifoglio OK. It's a February 2017 car.

I do however have ABS errors displayed on the instrument panel when I connect MES to the ABS.

When MES conntect to some systems like Airbar or ABS then the dash will display the various error lights. This is normal.

What is important is:

1) All the lights go out after disconneting MES and cycling the ignition

2) No errors logged

Certainly, no warnings remain after MES is disconnected and no errors are logged.
