ELM327 - Connection to ECU Failed

I have a MES registered license (£50) running on Windows10 but am unable to connect to any ECU modules except for 'Engine'.
I'm connecting via ELM327 mini bluetooth adaptor which supports Torque just fine.
I've attached a screenshot of the ELM327 adaptor's circuit board, has anybody got any advice how to connect to the various modules?
Before you recommend getting some cables can you please recomnend a particular make/model which you know has worked with MES.
My car is Alfa Romeo Brera 2.2 JTS. Thank you for any helpful information :)

Looking at the Vehicles Supported list the Brera use KL/ELM for the engine on standard Pin 7. Also uses KL/ELM for the ABS ssytem, Selespeed gearbox and Xenon headlights but these require adaptor cables. All the other systems are on the CAN network so it appears that your Bluetooth device has the typical problems that many cheap ELM interfaces have. See: http://forum.multiecuscan.net/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=1493

You have a few options:

1) Fix your device if you can by removing the incorrect CAN line termination resistors
2) Purchase a "known to work" ELM device from a known supplier
3) Use and OBDLink device instead (more expensive but have never been known to be problematic)

Thank-you for the advice. Do you have any examples of working devices USB cables, etc or is it just a case of guessing and hoping for the best each time you buy one?

See the list of approved distributors here: http://www.multiecuscan.net/Distributors.aspx

All their devices and cables should work perfectly OK and they will/should provide help and support if you have problems.
