KMs Lower on ECU

Post by cgentil » 13 Feb 2019, 19:39

Hi,

On my '08 159 the KM in ECU is about 15.000 KM, and in dashboard is about 160.000KM.

Number of programmations is 0.
Odometer at last prog is 0,0.

Is normal that happening? The difference is huge between the ECU stored and dash.

It is Normal.

My Croma 2005 exhibited similar discrepancies. Others have reported similar.

There has never, to my knowledge, been a satisfactory explanation for the differences. Various suggestions from km to miles conversion errors, others and even tampering/reprogramming. I ruled out tampering/reprogramming because I had my Croma from new and the discrepancies existed then. I also ruled out the dealer resetting delivery mileage as this has a limit and in your case 10,000km reset would not be allowed.

No need to worry?

Because ECU mileage is 15.000 (not 150.000) and on instruments is 160.000.

So everything is at it should?

Thanks!

OK, 15,000 vs 160,000

Still no problem or need to worry. Were it the other way round then I might did a little deeper.

Because the mileage on ECU is lower than in dash, so I guess all is ok on that.

Hi,

Getting back on this topic.

So following this thread, someone suggest that 0,0 means playing with odometer.

http://forum.multiecuscan.net/viewtopic.php?p=12905#p12905

So for example:

Dashboard Odometer: 160000 km

Now in MES

Odometer: 15000,4 km (yes 15000, not 150000)
Odometer at last programming: 0,0 km
Number of programmings: 0

It seems to be stuck?

The ECU odometer counts, but the difference is huge.

Is that normal, or anything to worry about with that?
