hi!
i’m in italy
i have a jeep renegade my 2015,
with oem uconnect 6,5 and bests audio system( it has amplifier in trunk)

i want remove oem uconnect and install an aftermarket multimedia
(alpine x802d-u)

i have multiecuscan

my question is:

when i’ll remove the uconnect AND
rear amolifier,
how i’ll have to do proxy aligment?

what is the procedure to do?

the alpine comes with adapter to mantain all function also of steering wheel,
but ,
the can bus will flag an error for disconnecting rear amplifier?

Before you change your head unit (uConnect to Alpine) I would VERY CAREFULLY AND IN DETAIL check that it supports ALL the vehicle settings that the uConnect supports.

When a uConnect is fitted to a vehicle during production, as oppsed to the simple radio, then many of the vehcle setup options (not radio/phone/media settings) are then done via uConnect and not the dashboard settings menu. Things like cornering lights, remote functions, etc.

understood

i now i’m evaluating another option

removal only of amplifier in the trunk,
non the uconnect

there is a unit from company “idatalink maestro ar”

that is made to substitute the oem amplifier with
another one aftermarket.
so the question:
if i leave oem uconnect, there are proxy alignement to do
removing only amplifier?

Hi,
there is possibility to change the car setup from uconnect to display between instrument cluster... You have to change your radio type in BCM... And setup menu will be automatically send from uConnect to IPC... You can do changes via steering wheel buttons after procedure...
