Airbag ECU: Error reading

Post by piggiu » 17 Mar 2015, 15:22

Hello guys,
I need your help with my Alfa Romeo. Gtv (916C), production 04/2000. It has 16 pin unified connector under the steering.
I have the airbag warning light on my dashboard. So I purchased a KKL cable (switchable) and downloaded Multiecuscan.
I can read all ECUs, but not the TRW 60664500 Airbag ECU.
I have tried more and more. I have no idea.
Could you help me?

hello

Maybe a stupid question?

Do you have the switch in the KKL placed on the no. 3?

Which driver did you use?
which is on the CD not very good and often causes problems
http://www.ftdichip.com/Drivers/VCP.htm (2.10.00 or 2.08.30)

And wiggle times the plug may have no connection pins

Greeting Eddy

Hi Eddy!
- Yes, I swith to position 3 when trying to connect to airbag Ecu. Same way with others ECU with their own switch.

- I have used Windows update drivers search. Do you suggest me those in the link? Anyway, I remark that other ECUs are read correctly.

-I do not understand:
"And wiggle times the plug may have no connection pins"
Could you explain in other words?

Thank you for your opinion

hello

Sorry for my bad english

I meant maybe get your pin 3 from the KKL Interface no contact
in the OBD socket in the car

If you are lifting the KKL something when connecting.
Maybe a contact made?

I have tried with another identical interface
. So I do not suppose a interface failure.
I hope you was referring to this.

Do you use Multiecuscan 2.4?
There were some connection problems with this TRW2 airbag module and KKL interfaces in earlier versions which we have fixed in v2.4.

Check if there is a airbag connection on the cars multiplug. It is possible that the airbags still uses a 3pin connector under the center console.

SOLVED: I've added a connection between pin3 and pin 7; now AIrbag ECU is read, but engine ECU is no more read. I've 2 KKL interfaces...so..that's ok!
Thank you

Hi, I've just ordered a similar cable.

I also have the TRW unit in my 98 GTV, and I really want to figure out if my airbags work,
because the airbag dashboard light won't even turn on.

What did you mean when you said: "I've added a connection between pin3 and pin 7"?
