Alfa Romeo 156 JTS 2.0 Selespeed diagnostics

Post by sam7376 » 07 Sep 2014, 10:46

multiecuscan 2.0 works well with the Alfa Romeo 156. Diagnostic software displays alot of useful information which then can be used for undertaking certain service and work. The car doctor radio show also strongly recommends performing diagnostics before doing any service. I have to say that I agree with this philosophy.
For example recently I performed a scan and noticed that my battery voltage was below 12v. Charging the battery corrected the low voltage.

Hi Sam

Whatever control should be read, it is always very important that has sufficient capacity battery.

Especially when Selespeed a good battery is very important, since the hydraulic pump requires a lot of electricity. And at a low voltage, the control does not work well.
:) :)

Might be a bit late Sportyone.....if your Alfa is the same as mine, you will probably need to remove the panel under the steering wheel, and near the fuses there is a black "box" which you can open and plug the cable into.

thanks mate got it,

now to sort a couple of issues.

frustrating that you can't just buy a VAG KKL connector ready to use without having to figure out & do some tricky wiring mods to read the ABS as well ?

how did you go sorting your selespeed bugs ?

Not yet! Been screenshotting and testing a few things this arvo, and hopefully someone will come along to tell me what I need to check or, ideally, what I need to change to fix it all!

Assuming that the car is right hand drive, its below the steering wheel on the right hand side. Above the fuse box.
