If you do not like soldering then just go to eBay.co.uk!
Type multiecuscan in search box and there you will find few sellers who are selling adaptors for FES. Set of 3 adaptors: A1+A2+A3 is about 20GBP.

I was interested in buying the OT-2 anyway for another project and so if it worked with this would save me buying anything else.

As to saving me soldering it was more the ELM board fault detailed here i was trying to avoid - viewtopic.php?f=5&t=1493

The adaptors wont fix this issue as far as i can make out.?

If it's a wifi interface then FES won't work with it, as it currently only tries to connect to a serial port.
To work with a wifi interface, software needs to be able to connect to an IP address instead.

That site also doesn't mention what chipset the interface is using. I know that wifi ELM327 interfaces exist as we're experimenting with one in work, but an ELM327 isn't enough for full FES coverage - you need an ELM and a KKL (or an interface that is capable of acting as both). So unless that interface supports the features of the ELM327 and the VAG KKL leads, you're not going to get the full coverage from FES.

If you just want to avoid the faulty ELM issue, have a look at the suppliers listed on this page:
