Bcm communication issue

Post by Stu565 » 17 Jan 2024, 06:22

I have a 2008 fiat ducato 3.0
I can access both engine and transmission but am unable to access bcm or abs. I have the current multiecuscan and a elm327. Are there adaptors I need to access the other modules?

Almost certainly.

See here: https://www.multiecuscan.net/SupportedVehiclesList.aspx

Make sure you have the correct Ducato Type/Year as there are quite a few to chose from.

The program should also tell you what adapter to use.

Thanks for your reply.
I purchased an adapter cable set but according to the multiecuscan support list I only need the green adapter to access the Abs module.
The elm interface should allow communication to bcm.
Does this mean it needs to be modified internally to access the bcm? It has the switch but doesn't seem to do anything.
I've rechecked and I'm using the correct vehical settings in the multiecuscan program.

I've not seen or heard of an ELM327 interface with a switch before. What make? From where?

I don't know the make, it was one I purchased on ebay.
Hopefully the adapter cables will allow communication with the bcm.

Would anyone one if the BCM is the same across all engine types? Could I grab a V8 one a and put it in?

Fuses 7,22, and 28 are all good, and there is power to fuse 7.
