Punto Mk2 reset airbag warning

Post by ringer » 28 May 2010, 13:28

Hi, I have a Punto Mk2 and switched on the ignition while the airbag was disconnected, so now the airbag warning light is always on :(

Q1. Will the airbag still work in the event of a crash, even though the warning light is on?

Q2. I understand that I will need a KKL cable to reset the airbag warning - is this correct? (I only have Elm327v1.3a at the moment)

Q3. Can I reset the airbag warning light with the shareware version of multiecuscan or do I need to buy the registered version?

Q4. Is it possible to connect the relevant pins using a (insulated) strap on the pins in the connector on the cable rather than open the connector on the cable and solder wires/switches?

Q5. KKL cables (with blue transparent connector) are going on ebay (in the UK) for £8.49 inc. p&p - is this about right or can I get one cheaper elsewhere?

Thanks
