Alfa Mito 155 Turbo - connection issues

Post by James M » 04 Jan 2023, 16:32

Hello,

I'm using a iDiagnostics ELM327 adapter purchased recently. The adapter set up ran fine and tests OK under the F9 menu in MultiECUScan 5.0, but I can't get it to connect to the ECU on my Alfa 1.4 Turbo (155 hp version). The lights on the adapter flash when it tries to connect, but I just get a CAN bus error back each time.

I'm using the "Mito 1.4 Turbo 16v" option... but none of the six ECU options comes up with the goods.

I'm presently using the free version of MultiECUScan 5.0. So far as I can tell this wouldn't restrict the ability to connect. Certainly happy to pay for a license... but would like to know it will work first!

Any advice on potential resolutions greatly appreciated.

Many thanks,
James

To answer my own question - the solution was to leave out the adapter cable and plug the unit directly into the OBD port. Now works fine.
