Connection problems ELM327 to Alfa 156 2002

Hi there,

Please excuse my English, it is a bit rusty.
Allready used the search function on the forum, can't find anything that provides me a solution.

I have a Alfa 156 1.9 JTD from the year (november) 2002.
When I try to connect with my OBDlink from Scantools.net (ELM327 to USB scanner) the following happens:
After clicking at least 5 times on "Connect" I get a connection and I can read and clear DTC's and perform all of the actuator tests.

BUT, when I click on "Parameters" and select, for example "Fuel pressure" the program exits to the mainscreen where I have to connect again.
I figured out that some values will work (made a screenshot), this is what works:

But the first option below "Injector class 5" the program exits again.
When the connection is lost I get the error: Timeout or port not correctly configured.

Allready tried changing the Baud rate in hardware settings and within FIAT ECU Scan with the following configurations:
PC @ 9600 - FIAT @ 9600
PC @ 83400 - FIAT @ 83400
PC @ 9600 - FIAT @ 83400
PC @ 83400 - FIAT @ 9600
All with latency at 1 (lowest possible) and I have no buffer settings for my virtual COM port.
Fat pressed = only one that "works", read connects after clicking at least 5 times and losing the connection after reading a value like fuel pressure.

Other tools (standard Scantool software) keeps the connection but there I am not able to read out Fault, perform actuator test etc. etc.

Here one more picture of my ECU data:

Thank you for your input!
Will defenitly buy a full version if this works!

Hi,

One note to all people about the ELM interface:
DO NOT disable the serial port buffers when working with ELM interface!

see above post, I quote:

"All with latency at 1 (lowest possible) and I have no buffer settings for my virtual COM port."

Can you confirm this setting?
Tried latency 1 and 16 (standard) neither work properly.
Could not find any buffer settings, so didn't modify them.

Could you please elaborate your awnser compared to my question(s)?

The only problem is that the device needs to be set at 9600 baud.
With that succesfull (new beta firmware update in the OBDlink) the connection can be established normally and every time.
