Problems with self adaption reset Doblo 1,4

Post by mechtild » 18 Mar 2021, 20:25

Hello!
Doblo 2009 1,4 8V got new injectors. Did the self adaption afterwards.
MIL did not come on. Revved 3 times to 5000rpm anyway.
Idle is instable between 900 and 1600rpm, sometimes very low power.
Did the procedure again today taking care to stay long enough above 5000rpm, still no MIL light, and unsteady after the procedure. idle.
Any ideas?

Hello!
After some time the car drives fine now with good torque.
But still the uneven idlenafter starting persists.
Goes aup to 1600rpm and then idles uneven at 1000 +-200

No errors stored.
And I still wonder why the MIL did not come on on the procedure.

Can you please suggest something?
Should I do the procedure again?
Or also the phonic wheel reset?
Anything I can test?

Why did you replace the injectors? Was it because of poor idle?

Have you checked the intake system, including EGR circuit for leaks, split tubes, etc. Air getting into the system, post throttle body, e.g. via EGR, can cause these types of idle fluctuations.

One injector was faulty with too less impedance. So i replaced all of them.
Does the gasoline engine have an egr system?
Will check for leaks

Some gasoline engines have EGR but are not normally troublesome as they are on diesel engines.

The point I was try to make is that air leaks on the manifold side of the throttle body can/do lead to engine RPM increase which the ECU notices and then closes the throttle body value to compensate and these conditions can "cycle".

If you have your old injectors then you could try replacing each new injector in turn with a know good old injector just to eliminate a faulty new injector.
