Are these two interfaces a good choice ?

Post by ngt » 31 Dec 2020, 11:21

I was looking for an ELM327 interface so i found description for the OBDLink SX interface that is in sold in the multiecuscan vendors but not included in our official Multiecuscan list

Features the new STN1110 chip that supports the full ELM327 command set and an extended command set adding many enhanced features, is up to 10 times faster than the ELM327 chip, 4 times as much flash memory, Over 5 times the RAM of the ELM327 chip
The STN1110 is Firmware updateable while the ELM327 requires the chip to be replaced with each new version

Also i want to connect to old fiat cars with the 3-pin and i was looking for a straight serial intereface without a USB to serial converter. ( i have a native serial port on my laptop)
RS232 KKL Interface - Serial

What do you think about the OBDlink SX and the KKL straight RS232 KKL interface ?

( I have purchased a generic multiecuscan EBAY kit but my blue VAG KKL shows high latency and i cannot adjust it from device manager
and the generic ELM327 although it responds back to test it doesnt connnect to CAN doesnt have the 120ohm resistor to remove but it looks like they put 500ohm resistors and a capacitor to ground on each can line. )
