Options for a 1996 Barchetta

Post by bluebarchetta » 21 Dec 2020, 08:29

Hi everyone,

I am trying to work out my best options to connect to the Hitachi ECU on my 1996 Barchetta. One of my challenges is that I don't have a Window laptop. I do have the following:
- Autel AP200
- EML 327 Wireless only
- VCDS Hexnet
- An OBDII to 3Pin connector
- iPad

From trying to use the EML 327 wirelessly connecting to the iPad it appears that you can only use CANtieCar to access the engine ECU. Options appear to be:

Option 1.
Buy a Windows laptop. Can I use the Hexnet or do I need a VAG KKL USB too?

Option 2
Buy a MultiECUScan Multiplex and use this to wirelessly connect to the iPad and use the Multiecuscan iOS software. Should this work wirelessly?

As both are relatively expensive options I wanted to check if they should both work.

Can anyone advise please?
