Giulia Quadrifoglio Oil Level Sensor Reset

Post by Torino » 06 Jun 2019, 10:30

Hi,
Does anybody know if you are able to carry out the Oil Level Sensor reset on the QV yet, using MES?
The last one that we serviced, were unable to carry out the reset.

Many Thanks

Depends on the year and possibly the region. I know for sure that the Alfa Romeo Giulia in North America with build dates later than about February of 2018 have a Software Gateway present that prevents writing to the system. You can purchase the SGW bypass devices from ZAutomotive and EuroCompulsion that bypass the module allowing direct access to the CAN bus. The more official way to do so is using the correct wiTECH diagnostic tool with a paid subscription, but that can be quite cost prohibitive depending on the number of Alfa's you service. BTW - This SGW module is showing up in all FCA vehicles.

A friend of mine just changed out his with an aftermarket part and continued to have the faulty oil sensor light on the dash. He installed the OEM sensor, and the light is now gone.
