Status Codes

Post by Subocean » 04 Apr 2010, 18:53

Hi folks,

Could anyone (Yani?) shed some light on the status codes please.

I'm refering to the final message one receives after running one of the possible adjustments i.e.: Line-end, clutch adjustment etc.. The format is Hex but the meaning is what I'm after... So far I couldn't find a legend or any reference...

I'm presently up against a nasty selespeed prob in a Stilo Abarth - irregular loss of entire transmission control without any stored fault. All parameters look as they should and yet - every now and again the transmission fault message comes up (in the car display) locks the box in Neutral - while the ECUScanner suggests that everything is fine. The only difference to scans under functional conditions are the affore mentioned adjustsments. Most of them will - while the fault is present - almost immediatelly result in a hex code and not being carried out - so it would be of some interest to me to understand the meaning of those numbers...

Ah, and yet another question: Does anyone knows a reasonable priced source for a ELM 327 interface? I'm located in Germany and there isn't a single one in the German bay... Next stop is China or Hong Kong, which I'm reluctant to try. There are various sources from the BIg Apple but the last time I tried this I ran into big trouble with German customs... Any suggestions welcome.

Does this also work for service interval resets? As far as I can see this interface is not based on the ELM 327 chip - which is what the reset feature demands anyways. But I'd like to hear that I'm wrong here...

Subocean,
dont worry, cable is detected as ELM 327 v1.3a and works fine, service interval reset - also works, I did it yet with this cable:
