ELM 327 connection

Post by Crombel » 03 Apr 2010, 19:30

I have tried 2.0 with the ELM cable and I get a TIMEOUT message.
Is the configuration (Latency Timer) of the serial port the same as for the VAG cable?

I have tried several settings but I cannot get connection.
Every time I get time out.
It works fine with k-line cable but not with the ELM327 cable.
Could this be a bug?
My car is a Fiat Croma '06 1.9 MJET 8V.

Hi, I have no problem with my ELM327cable on my stilo.
What cable do you have? Is it version 1.3+? Did you try to change baud rate in settings? My works fine with speed 38400.

Thank You!
As Simple As That, changing the baud rate in settings to 38400 solved the time out message.
Works great now.
Thanx again,
Dirk

ELM 327 v1.3 SUPPORT! The program now works with 2 types of interfaces - VagCom and ELM 327 v1.3. There are limitations for both interfaces - VagCom does not work for CAN modules, and ELM 327 does not work with some of the older modules (like the airbags) and that is a limitation of ELM 327 v1.3. The newer versions of ELM 327 v1.4+ does work with those modules, but I don't have support for that interface yet.

It works ok for all ABS modules, except ABS 5.3, and also works for TRW EPS.

i read on another topic here that you still have to bridge pins...

@oem:
did you try to change baud rate? latency time?
does it work with other software?
