Alfa 147 2L Selespeed

Started with a waterpipe burst which overheated the engine and cracked the head and piston rings needed replacement. Damage was more to repair than to buy new engine... So we bought a new engine had it fitted.. Then problems started... It didnt want to go into gear...we checked the actuator, actuator was bit dirty, cleaned and tested... 100% working. Next we checked gearbox and pressure plate... 100%... Then we saw release bearing was a bit damaged and ended up buying new bearing... Now bearing is fitted but it stil doesnt want to go into gear.. What else can it be? Any andvice on what to do or what ro check?
