Hi, just downloaded MES for my 06 Doblo issues.
Using a VAG KKL Fiaat ecuscan interface, I,ve successfully
cleared my ABS light after new discs ect ere fitted.Great.
I,d like to connect to the dashboard to check some bulb issues.
but I,m now being asked to use the ELM interface for this model, I
thought this kkl interface was suitable for all connections as its got
the switching on it.
So do i need the other interface too.

Thanks

A KKL interface supports only one OLD protocol.

An ELM interface supports more protocols including CAN Bus.

Sadly often older vehicles required both KKL and ELM interfaces to cover all functions.

To add confusion/complexity the required electrical pin connections can change as well.

All is detailed here:

Back again after a long spell with the same
ABS light on. But now after installing 4.3 to a repaired broken laptop, I have a
constant problem with a "no response from ecu" error.
Despite 2 days of headbanging, I am unable to resolve this issue.
I have checked and double checked, com port settings, as well as port settings,
all to no avail.

I am afraid I have very little hair left to pull out at this stage.
I can set it up to search, find and test the interface, but still not connect.

At this stage I,m stumped.

I'm going to try to connect to another same year same type vehicle this morning.
At least this will confirm where my problems lie. Either with a problem with my lead,
my settings, or possible ecu issues.
I'll keep you posted.

Identical issues when trying to connect to the other car.

And identical issues on another laptop, trying to connect to the same car.

So its either my Vagkkl lead or com port settings/configuration. And as I am

not successful in determining the correct port settings from anywhere online, I

might have to book it in somewhere to get the problem sorted before my test date.

Despite endless attempts to change the port settings, I am having no luck.

Post a screenshot of your Multiecuscan interface settings and one screenshot of your Windows device manager, Ports category opened. Also, a screenshot of your current interface driver could help. Or simply update your driver to the latest.

Is this the same interface you used successfully a few years ago?

I,ll post up some screen shots today. Its the same interface as used a few years ago, but not the same laptop.

I can change the port settings, but I dont seem to be hitting the right solution with the settings.

Its the kkl vagcom interface and I have tried both 3.9 and 4.3 versions. And my OS is Win Vista.

I have set for low latency, and set com ports below number 4

Which driver should I be using in this case,

Thankyou

I am afraid I am having some problems attaching screen shots. File sizes are below 300kb,

but I cant get an image uploaded, and there is a yellow warning triangle alongside the image.

I,ve given up on this
