'8 Lancia Delta SRS light on, circuits open but no fault codes

Post by mikepl » 03 Mar 2017, 09:46

Hi, yesterday i have connected a 08 Delta with 2.6 version MES/FES (the latest i am eligible with my licencing) to read SRS fault codes.

The car was involved in an accident and had the front passenger and driver airbags deployed, plus right curtain airbag plus both front pretensioners.

The airbag warning light was ON on the dash, and when reading the actual values i could properly see the fired circuits as being open. So theoretically
i should be able to read the associated codes. To my surprise fault code section returned no errors (empty list).

Is it a problem with software, that particular SRS unit or just the way it's supposed to be?
I have seen Mazdas who, after a crash, "freeze" the ECU state just before the accident; therefore, the ecu is "locked", signals a fault but no open circuits ever get registered in the DTC memory. Any similarities?

Below some parts of log files.
