2014 Fiat 500 Abarth (North American) - Upgraded instrument panel to TFT

Post by AbarthDriver » 24 Dec 2016, 22:43

Hello,

This is most likely going to be for Yani, but...

Car:

2014 FIAT 500 Abarth (North American model)

What I did:

- Removed older ANALOG instrument cluster.
- Put in 2015 Abarth TFT instrument cluster when car ECU KMs matched the cluster.

-> Flashing odometer (to be expected).

- Performed Proxi Alignment, TFT switched to a base Fiat 500 TFT and no longer displays the Abarth TFT graphics.

Is there a quick way to fix this via a menu item or custom command?

Thanks!

Please try the following:
1. Connect to your car with CAN Setup/PROXI Alignment
2. Go to Adjustments
3. press ctrl+alt+c from the keyboard
4. Multiecuscan will open a window with title “Custom PROXI”. Be very careful here not to delete or change something!
5. You should see a box with many bytes of data (this is the complete PROXI configuration)
Find byte 65 (on bottom of the window you will see a red message Byte xx which indicates the location of the cursor) and very carefully change it from 00 to 60. I guess that it is 00 at the moment, 60 is for Abarth style...
6. Click OK
7. Execute PROXI ALIGNMENT PROCEDURE
8. Disconnect from car and send report (from the red Send Report button in Multiecuscan)
9. Switch OFF the car and wait 1 minute.
Re-start the car and see if there is any change.

Awesome. I'll give this a try later today. Do you have all the byte codes for the different displays? For example is 00 is a base 500 display and 60 is Abarth, what about the others? I know there is a very cool 595 display that is completely different and I'd love to try that out as well.

Thanks again! I'll let you know the results and send a report later today.

That did the trick Yani. You were correct, it was at 00. Excellent.

I sent the report right after. :)

Just wanted to give this a bump.to see if the hex codes could be provided for the other TFT display types. Are they 00, 10, 20 and so on? I didn't want to try and possibly brick the cluster.

The other values which you can try are 20 and 40. One of these should set it to "Sport" type.

Is there a list of what each byte does in the custom configuration?

^^ This.

Also I can confirm "40" is the North American 500T (Turbo) cluster UI. Has a turbo boost gauge instead of Throttle Position % in Sport mode and also makes it do the factory boost gauge is shut off. Nifty. I didn't try the 20 yet, but I assume it's the sport model.
