Unable To Perform Proxy Alignment

Post by Redders03 » 14 Dec 2016, 02:22

Hi,

Currently in the process of trying to perform a proxy alignment on an Alfa Brera 08. However every time, it fails with unreliable connection message.

My interface is from Genden.

Apart from this all other functions work in the software correctly.

I also have the two errors logged, U1602 and B1029

Can anyone provide insight to why I am having this problem ?

Kind Regards

What ODB2 dongle are you using? A resistor *might* have to be removed, or it may be fully incompatible.

I recently had this problem when using an ELM interface on my 500X. Everything else worked ok except for the CAN/Proxi connection.

MES Support advised that that the ELM 38,400 connection speed is not fast enough (on some cars?) but CANTie, OBDLink and other interfaces that can run at 115,200 speed should be OK.

I purchased and OBDLink and all was then fine.

It could be that your Brera 08 is one of those cars that sends CAN/Proxi data too fast for your device.

The reason that all the other functions work ok is that for normal MES operations only a few bytes of can data are sent from the car to MES for all the other functions. However the CAN/Proxi connection sends 200 bytes of data at high speed and fills up the ELM buffers too quickly.

I've tried both an OBDLink SX and IDiagnostics ELM. Both have been designed for Italian Cars and claim to have been altered or designed correctly for this purpose. OBDLink SX uses 115,200 and IDiagnostics ELM is 32,000

And you used the "ADAPTER 3" with your interface? I have the same interface as you. For proxy you need the yellow adapter.

When you talk of a Dongle your talking about a plug in unit into the eobd socket?

I only ask as I have just purchased the package and assumed it connects from my laptop direct to the vehicle?
Only came today. All registered but not used it yet.

Hi, I have exactly the same problem with 2008 Brera. Did you solved that issue somehow?
Thanks.
