Ducato 2.3jtd speed limiter

Post by wassock » 02 Dec 2016, 22:53

Hi can anyone tell me if the "speed limiter" setting in announced in ver3.1 will allow me to turn off the 68mph limit (factory?) in my 2012 Euro 5 2.3jtd 130 X250 face lift Ducato.
My updates ran out with version 3.0.
Thanks Dave

Hello :)

I have 3.3, and there you can adjust speed limit.

I have renewed my Multiecuscan license and I can now answer my own question.

On my vehicle (2012 Euro 5 2.3jtd 130 X250 face lift Ducato) version 3.3 does allow me to change or disable the speed limiter. The options are 90, 100, 110, 130 or No Limit.

I changed from 110 to no limit and tried it, on a private road of course, success!, I then reset it to 130. it was previously limiting at 66mph which was a bit slow in some traffic. 130kph equates to about 80mph which will stop me getting too carried away on good roads.

Thanks go to Yani for an excellent job writing and supporting this software.

Sorry to drag up an old topic but I have this speed limiter on my van also. Although set to 130kph (81 mph).

My question is: my van is a Citroen Relay. Same base as the Ducato with mostly the same components fitted. MultiECUscan will read most of the vans computers such as the body control module. However the ECU is different and the engine is the 2.2 Ford Puma lump and the Fiat used the 2.3 Iveco unit.

Can I use MultiECUscan to change my speed limitation with that setting being in th engine ECU options?

You could try using Ducato (type 250) 2.2 Multijet as that uses the same Visteon ECU as the 2.2 Boxers/Relays.
There you'll find the same speed limit reset procedure.
