New Key

Post by darimar » 29 Nov 2011, 20:23

Hi to everyone,
I lost 2nd electronic key of my Alfa Brera (is the same of Alfa 159 key). Can multiecuscan execute the learn procedure to add new electronic key ?

Greetings, Dario.

P.S. : I'm new on this forum, my name is Dario and I write from Sicily. Bye Bye.

Yes it can. You will need your electronic keycode (keycard).

Thanks for your response. Yes, I know that I need the key code card. I haven't now, but I can order a new code card specific for my car supplied as original Alfa Romeo spare part. The price for a new key is very high (about € 250 plus codify fees), but I have an old key of another car (alfa 159 year 2006) and I would use this on with my car.

summarizing, I need:

1) key code card
2) electronic keys
3) elm327 interface
4) multiecuscan 3.3 registered

It's correct?

Bye bye, Dario.

Yes.
But you dont need new electronic key... just your electronic key. You get it at every alfa workshop.
New code card is sent from factory.
250€ sounds a lot... i paid 50€ for mine.

It is not possible to program keys (transponders) with Multiecuscan!

Thank you very much. I will buy registered version soon. Great and very useful software. I hope you develop it further.

Greetings, Dario.
Even if you buy the registered version of FES you will not be able to program your new key!

My advice for you is go to main (official) dealer, buy the new key, let them program it for you and you will not have any problem.
After they do the programming of new key, they will also delete key which you lost, and that lost key even if you find it you won't be able to start the car!

You should be lucky! In Bosnia the new key is about 300€ + 15€ for programming!

Hi Can you program an old fob to the car alarm?
This way you can cut a blank key blade( + programmed old fob) and have a spare key to open the car.
You could still start the car using the codecard emergency procedure if working key is lost.
