Error Message U1716 by a Fiat Stilo

Post by imkrl » 14 Apr 2011, 17:28

Hello,
I'm getting a permanent error on my Fiat Stilo:

U1716 - Net CAN (NCM - NAC)

This seems to be a connection error between 2 devices: 'NCM' and 'NAC'.
What kind of devices are these ?

NCM - Engine Control Node
NAC - Adaptive Cruise Control Node

@yani: zhanks for the informations.

But: Why does this error message occur?
Adaptive Cruise Control Node isn't in my car installed, only the normal Cruise Control, but the normal Cruise Control is currently not working. FIAT dealer hasn't found the reason.
The previous owner of my Stilo told me, that Cruise Control never has worked.

multiecuscan signal me, that the Cruise Control is 'not present' (German: Fahrgeschwindigkeitsregler - Nicht verfugbar see link)

So, could it be possible, that the Body Computer is programmed, that an ' Adaptive Cruise Control ' is present (which isn't !), and while the CAN Bus doesn't find it, the Cruise Control is assigned as 'not present' ?
Is it possible, to show with multiecuscan which devices are programmed ?
It is possible, with multiecuscan, to turn off the preselected (if it is so) ' Adaptive Cruise Control ' ?

You can use the "CAN Info" connection to see which modules are available/configured in your vehicle.
