GENDAN creates FIAT ECUSCAN Hardware/Cable Set

Post by s130 » 22 Sep 2010, 10:58

Right guys and gals

I know Yani does not like recommending or posting specific hardware recommendations so I will.

Gendan a UK company have produced two rather neat kits for Multiecuscan users.

1) A complete pacakage of VAG KKL interface, Elm V1.4 interface and two additional patch cables. see here: http://www.gendan.co.uk/product_FESHW.html

2) Just the two patch cables. see here: http://www.gendan.co.uk/product_FESCBL.html

Now I've already modified my KKL and Elm cables so am a little upset as the two patch cables would have saved me a load of time, but that is life. I'm going to buy the two cables anyway as it is the safer solution if you are ever going to use your KKL / Elm units on vehicles other than Fiats.

Thanks for the posting . I was about to buy a modified vagcom cable (four way dil switch) thats available on ebay at the moment (£29.99 delivered) . I currently use multiecuscan and Alfadiag through a bog standard Vagcom usb cable. Forgive my ignorance , is the Elm interface used for CAN ?

Gendan have updated their packages today to include 3 adaptor cables rather than the previous 2.
The cables they have now match up with Yani's Adapter 1 / 2 / 3 on the supported vehicles list :)

I'm thinking about adding a new feature in the next release to ask the users to insert the correct type of adapter cable before connecting. Something like "PLEASE CONNECT ADAPTER CABLE 1 (GREEN)" ...

For anyone that bought the original Gendan pack, they're also now listing the new yellow adaptor (adapter 3) on their website individually:
http://www.gendan.co.uk/product_FESYELLOW.html

As well as the CAN mappings, this lead has a single pin 7 to pin 12 connection for the Fiat Croma coverage that would be missing from their previous 'adapter 1' cables.

You have to set the port speed (under Test button in Multiecuscan settings) to 38400.
