Please excuse me if my quastion sounds weird.... Does this unit looks ok ?? Maybe i should remove resistor next to pin 3 and 4( i count from right to left)... Becouse i notised thats the most common sugestion, to remove resistor next to these pins.. Or maybe its problem with my windows 8?? Maybe port settings are bad... I did not mess with them, but maybe there is somthing wrong....

Hello

Yes this resistance is the problem with Multiecuscan and Italian vehicles
But this also only for older vehicles and also only for the CAN bus protocol

Again, I think you have not understood it yet
With Multiecuscan you can not read Mazda does not fit

This is what you will surely notice if you continue to try this.

Hi everyone,

i'm on my third ebay clone to try and read my alfa 159 and all of then have failed to do so thusfar.

- originally i bought those chunky original looking usb variants to use with a laptop. none of the suggested settings in MES did the trick.
- 2nd i bought the blue mini bluetooth version for use with torque. also no success. not even a light to suggest it powered on.
- now i've bought the below one (see link), also bluetooth for torque. that one dóes show a power-on led, but thats it. not even findable with bluetooth.

afther buying three, that's when i stumbled upon this topic. i've read quitte some pages (but 218 pages is a bit much, ouch :D ) and lots seem to have found a solution, but not with my model.
so i opened it up in hopes of finding similar pinouts and resistors. of course that wasn't the case :( .
perhaps the most notable thing: only 8 pins are actually connected from the pins to connections on the PCB. is that even enough to make it work on any car, let alone italian ones?
i don't need all functions, actually i only need to be able to read engine codes and reset them (preferred method is BT with torque). the rest is just a bonus. but will that even work?

google drive link of my opened elm327: (hope this works)

Hello All!

I have Fiat Stilo 2005/06 1,4 16V, and i try to connect via OBD but i cannot access, only to Engine module. I used Multiecusan and "CHX" OBD BT. I would like to read climate control module. During contection test Multiecusan says this adapter is not access to CAN modules.
Hera are some pic about OBD:

Hello

If the MES interface test does not show your interface with CAN modules
This interface is not usable.

Buy another ELM

Hi Eddy,

Thx for your feedback. sucks monkey balls though .... :(
can you recommend a elm327 clone (preferred bluetooth) that will work, or will work after some modifications?
i've ordered 3 totally different ones by now and none of them work on my alfa 159 :( .
