Hello, I have just bought ELM327 and new to Multiecuscan so I have a few questions.
First of all, my elm327 doesn't look the same as the others I've seen here on the forum, so I wonder which resistor should I remove.
Some other questions, why is the resistor being removed, is it to access can-modules? One other question is the ELM327 usable without the adapter cables & removing resistor. Because I got some errors trying connecting such as "WARNING: This interface is not compatible with ELM 327 1.3! Will not connect to any CAN module." and also problems when testing the connection in settings.

All help and answers are appreicated since I'm all noob to this.
Thanks in advance.

If you do not remove the resistor you will not be able to connect to CAN BUS controlers.
So use a multimeter ( ohmeter ) to check if the resistor is there 120 ohm between CAN BUS pins 6-14.
If there is you have to remove the resistor. If there isn't any resistance between OBD2 pins 6-14 ( on your interface ) you haven't that resistor.
Adaptors are used to connect to other CAN BUS controlers on other pins as 3-11, 12-13, 1-9 and other k-line controlers then one on pin 7
No adpators you will be able to connect only on CAN BUS pins 6-14 and k-lin pin 7.
Good luck

Good morning everyone
please help - which resistor blocks the CAN connection. Specifically, I want to make a Ducato.
Maybe you could help me for a moment? Thank you.

The intricacies of ELM327 interfaces and their compatibility can be perplexing. Your detailed exploration, including adjustments via terminal commands and varying results with different software versions, highlights the complexities users might face. It's encouraging that FES v.2.6.1 seems to provide a working solution for your ELMs, adding a positive note.[tzok wrote: ↑10 Dec 2010, 21:59I've got 2 ELM327 interfaces, both labeled as 1.5a, but they differ even in the way they blink the LEDs during the power init procedure. None of them don't want to connect to my Grande Punto when using SCANTOOL.NET (I've set vendor ID to SCNATOOL.NET via terminal AT@3 command). I've borrowed an identical to one of my own interface from a friend of mine and it worked just fine. All interfaces worked fine with ScanMaster-ELM. Unfortunately I had to give it back before the FES v.2.6 was released. None of mine ELMs did connected using 2.6, but both work with 2.6.1?!? I didn't tried it with registered version, but FREE opened a connection, so I assume it will work (hope so, because I've just bought FES).

Hello,
I have a elm1.5a cable and am having issue connecting to my Giulia using MultiECUScan. I have tested the connection using MultiECUScan and get an error: WARNING: this interface is not compatible with ELM 327 1.3!
I have tested the resistance between pins 6 and 16 and I get 120, so I think I do have the resistor.
Please can someone let me know which resistor on this board type I need to remove
