hello

You're right, at least read the MotorECU you should order.

Then I guess that you have not installed any special driver. But Windows itself has found a driver. Or did you use the driver on the CD.
Unfortunately, this is often the problem, so please use the driver but I have linked here again

http://www.ftdichip.com/Drivers/VCP.htm

Otherwise, all settings must be checked. Then the connection should work.

Settings are OK. I have alternative interface ELM327 v2 USB and it works perfect with MES on my laptop.

I bought one of these http://www.ebay.com/itm/130905669470?_t ... EBIDX%3AIT
And it works on my room mates 07 Subaru Forester,But won't work on my 97 Ford F-150 XL 4.2L.
So does this mean its bad?
And should I buy this American made one? http://www.plxdevices.com/product_info. ... TBLUETOOTH

I have a question for u Alfaeddy; my ELM327 bluetooth v2.1 is able to connect to my Alfa Romeo Giulietta ECU with Torque PRO App on Android (i can see all the real time values). If i try to do the same with Fiat Multiecuscan 2.3R2 (i also tried 2.2) running on Windows 8.1 64bit, i always receive this error when i hit the Interface Test button: WARNING - This interface is not compatible with ELM 327 1.3! Will not connect to any CAN module (The response from the other commands is "OK") I set the Interface Type to ELM 327 v1.3+ in Multiecuscan settings, i also set the correct Serial port and tried different Port Speeds. Is a specific driver needed, even if it is a bluetooth ELM?
I attach some pictures of my ELM327, the 121ohm resistor between pin 6-14 has already been removed (it was R27); hope u can help me

Hi Dave

Are you sure this is the bridge resistor R27 ???
Have you ever the white plug housing on the 8 pin strip away?

A driver you should also install the Bluetooth interface.
Take this I have more than once linked here.

Hallo DaveM

hi eddy,

trawled through many of the previous pages without finding an exact pic of the pcb version i have.

i bought this one: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/261557307881 ... 1497.l2649

though i have removed the 121 resistor that was across obd pins 6 and 14 (shown as R2 on the circuit below) which seemed like the one being referred to for other pcb designs.

Image

the drivers are standard windows 7 bluetooth and virtual serial drivers.

mes 2.2 can see the obd device and communicate with it via the test interface on com16, but get below error when trying to connect.

Image

the settings and test interface screens are below.

car is alfa 159 2.4 jtd, key is inserted and start button pressed (equivalent to ignition on) - the car does not need to be started does it?

thanks in advance.
