To JTD 171

Looking at your picture, I have the same unit. The problem is R04, a 120 ohm resistor across pins 6 and 7 of the 2551 CAN interface chip. I flipped one end up with a soldering iron (so one end still attached in case I ever want to put it back) and it works fine now.

Cheers, Paul

Hi Paul

Of course, the resistor must not be removed, so you is right :D
Only the connection of pin 6 + 7 am MCP2551 or TJA1040 must be disconnected.

It is easy for most people to remove the resistor as to separate the one side only.

Hello guys ! I have bought ELM327 USB interface from eBay.

It connects normally to mutiecuscan -->

This interface is compatible with ELM 327 1.4! Should connect properly with all CAN modules.

The pictures of the interface are here, since i don't know how to open it:

Does someone has the same interface ? Should i remove the capacitor or is it not inside ? How can i open it ?

Hello Hrconia

Whether you need to open this interface can not tell from your pictures you can.
It is important What car do you want to read?
And if you have read the CAN bus protocol?

If you need to open the ELM?
Peel off the label
among which are 4 screws.

Greetings Eddy

First of all ... thank you very much for your fast response Eddy! You rock !
I managed to open the interface easily after peeling the label.

The front picture:
I measured the resistance of little guy with number 121 near the outside pins - it says 118.4 Ohm.

The back pictures were really hard to snap. On the backside are 2 resistors. Both of them say 472.
Controllers say PL2303HX and PIC 18 F25K 80. Transistor says WS LM 317LZ 228Y.

picture is not so good:

I would try to connect to Fiat punto '03 or Alfa 147 JTD '03 or newer. Thanks !

hi Hrconia

Can the motor control and ABS of your Fiat Punto and Alfa 147 you need without changes to the ELM interface read.

To read Body Comp, service, proxy, etc. you have to remove the red resistance.

Eddy correct me if I am wrong.
If i remove the resistor, the interface will read EVERYTING or just Body Comp, service, proxy ?

If it will read just Body Comp, service, proxy then i should buy another ELM327 interface and NOT remove the resistor so i could be able to read motor control and ABS ?

thx

Hello

Then once
Just as the ELM is now you could read motor control and ABS (adapter green)

After removing the resistor you can also Body Comp. Read, service, etc.

For the airbag of the Punto and 147 you need a KKL Interface

Just found this post trying to figure it out why my ELM scanner bought on ebay was not able to connect.

I need to connect to an AR 147 1.9 JTD 16V in order to reconfigure the alarm key (battery run out and now it is not working with the new one).
After reading some of the posts and seeing some pictures I think I know what to do.

I need to remove the R2 resistor marked as green?
It is connecting pins 6 and 14.
