Hi everyone.

I don't know if anyone in the thread has already explained the 120 ohm resistor (I did go through the most of the posts though) :)

The 120 ohm resistor is usually the CAN bus terminator. Removing it might leave the bus open on one end, which may result is lost or corrupted data. The ELM datasheet seems to fail to mention this. The ELM327 does not terminate this internally so it needs to be terminated as close as possible to the ELM327 (theoretical at least :) )

The resistor and capacitor are used to level out interference on the CAN H and CAN L lines and should be more optional than the 120 ohm resistor to my opinion..

But as many people have found; it does fix the issues with the ELM327 and CAN support for a lot of users, but not all users seem to be able to benefit from it. It only indicates to me that the ELM327 has various small differences per production line?

Best regards everyone,

Big Al

Hello Zafron

Remove the red marked Resistor, then you can read CAN Bus Protokolls

Hi everyone.

I have a problem connecting Multiecuscan to an Abarth grande punto 2008 with a 1.5 elm bluetooth.

I receve this error message:

"Attention this interface is not compatible elm 327 1.3. Not will connect to any module can!"
And i can't use nothing of the program...

Into the test interface connection multiecuscan detect a 1.5 elm device...........

This is my elm interface, but my is bluetooth, whit classical blue module:

With other software i can connect to the interface (torque, scanxl,ecc......).

Hi people.

I am from South Africa and I am battling to connect to the dashboard department on my 2008 Fiat Bravo Tjet sport as I have a problem with my bluetooth system. It is not working at all. if I press the buttons including the menu button on the steering wheel nothing happens.

My ELM 327 will not connect to the dashboard so I opened my cable to do the modification but the PC board looks allot different than the one on the first page of the thread.

I have attached some photos of the PC board of my cable perhaps someone can help me or indicate to my what I should do and where on the board I should do this.

Here is my board:

Hello to South Africa

I suspect you have no problems connecting to the engine control unit?

Unfortunately, your pictures are very fuzzy but I think the R14 would solve your problem.
Can you still make time from the front page a better image?
Please remove and the white plug housing
