Ask on ELM and sw.

Post by Good 198 » 03 Dec 2011, 19:00

Hi. I'm another Italian and another more modest English writer.

I recently purchased an ELM , I have a Fiat Bravo198 1400cc 16v .
Wen I have connected the ELM usb to PC for the first time , the same PC will download the driver with windows up-dates  .
I haven't inserted the CD with the driver and instal it , because Win.up-date make this in automatic .
I check the Com on PC and in Fes , I do the test with FES and I don't see faults in the Test , Maybe :

This interface is compatible with ELM 327 1.4! Should connect properly with all CAN modules.

Then I try the star key on Bravo in MAR position and engine off, don't make the start motore bat take the key on MAR.
I have Connected the ELM on the connector of body panel and the software are connected to the electronics car engine .....

Electronics of the "Body" and "Reset Sevice" , I can't connected to it because it gives me this (italian) screen....

Open the ELM, and I know the 120Ω resistor in parallel to the line hight-low canbus , in the R04 near and conected to the pin of the PCB connector that goes to pin 14-6 of OBD connector .

You think that if I intervene on the line canbus as described in this topic (or the first topic) , I resolve :?:

Bye-Bye !!

Hello

Right, you have these 120 ohm resistor (R04) and remove
then you should connect to your service, body manufacture etc.
can

"The operation has timed out. " usually means that the port speed is not correct!
Try with different port speed... 9600, 38400, 115200...

I have seen some cables on ebay with 1.4 version does that work on a Fiat Doblo 1.3Mjet?
I'm a bit confused by the info here.

Maybe the site should sell its own cables, so those can be trusted 100%

Hello

Unfortunately, your picture from the top of the board made the wrong side
I can not understand the resistance R04, which is of the third pin
the connector covers.

I guess he has a resistance of 120 ohms and connects, the
Pins 3 and 4 of the connector
because they go to the bottom of the MCP2551 and connect its ports
6 + 7

This resistance and remove your ELM also works in the CAN bus system
Or do not you a picture of the other top side to be sure.
