Nojustice wrote:OK Just to give you the full details on my situation.

I have just bought an Alfa 147 which has a flashing speedometer, a side light bulb missing which I have now replaced but the warning still remains, none working radio and the windows will not go down.

Tried looking into the window problem and removing the controllers showed scrapyard markings.

I have assumed both the radio and the Window controllers have been replaced and a Proxi-Alignment is required.

I bought the ELM327 adapter previously posted as well as AlfaODB so I could perform an alignment

When plugging in the ELM I was getting a mad dashboard, flashing and beeping constantly. I was able to connect to the engine ECU ok everytime and on VERY RARE occasions I was able to connect to the body computer (this kept connecting and disconnecting) and detect some faults occurring however I have not been able to read CAN status or perform a proxy alignment.

I have posted on your forum and have been given some advice.... so.....

I have now removed both the resistors and the capacitors you told me to remove and retried the Bluetooth ODB and.....

I no longer have the dash flashing and and beeping like made when the ELM is plugged in and....

I can now connect to the Body on most occasions and perform some active diagnostics (side light test, main beam test)

Whenever I try to read CAN Status I often get a disconnection and have to retry (very few occasions had a partial result)
I cannot get any response from Proxi-Alignment (keeps disconnecting)

Do I still need to do Yani's soldering step in order to fix this issue or is this a setting problem

Help please ... I am really close :)

Thanks for all your help so far

Hello

I do not know what you've done.
The two 100 ohm resistors and the 560 pF capacitors must not be removed.
Who writes something is wrong.

Are these two connections (100 ohm + 560 pF) is not present is often a
Built in bridge resistor, only one needs to be removed.!

Numbering of the resistor varies depending on the circuit board
It is not always R4 sometimes it is R2 / R 12 / R 21, etc.

From your description here, I can not say whether it is setting error
or a driver error is.

Most interface are shown here already and I have also marked the relevant resistance.

Hello Mark

This is about Multiecuscan not to Torque
And your mistake is certainly another

It depends on

What Lancia Delta you want to read?
What control you want to read?

Is your Delta ever read with torque?

etc.

You have an ELM 327 and you remobe R04 ( 120Ohm )
This rezistor it si remove because you cannot connect to CAN BUS controlers on pins 6 and 14
Now you use the red adaptor wich change the k-line from pin 7 to AIRBAG controler on k-line pin 3
And you are not able to connect to it
Why?
Because the ELM 327 tool dosen't support protocol used in AIRBAG on k-line ( pin 3 )
This issue s nothing to do with that rmoved rezistor
Your tool can be used in all controlers in Fiat group cars but not in AIRBAG controler on k-line ( pin 3 )
ELM 327 can connect on AIRBAG's controlers only the one on CAN BUS
On k-line you can use it with all the other adaptors but not with red adaptors - this one it is not usefull for your tool
Good luck
Thanks for replying matty.
I am not sure what to say. Where do you get information about CAN BUS controllers and K-Line and the rest of it? There is no direct information on how to fix things. Can someone please tell me how exactly I could fix the error "ELM327 -> ECU connection failed"? Thanks a lot

Mate
I belive that you have a Fiat Stilo
And you want to connect to Airbag controler using red adaptor
In Fiat Stilo Airbag controler it is on K-line
The ELM 327 tool do not support Airbags controlers in k-line
For Airbag controlers in k-line on pin 3 you need a VAG KKL for instance
You tool using adaptors support all controlers in Fiat/Alfa/Lancia cars but not the Airbags on k-line o pin 3
As I told you to removing the rezistor it is a solutions only for CAN BUS controlers in Fiat group cars not for k-line
Good luck

P.S. - i'm not grab this information from anywhere I only tell you from my experince. If you want to hear it is ok or you can continue to check. It is your choice

Removing those capacitors and resistors as well as messing with settings has allowed me to run a proxy alignment
Thanks Matty

Ok.thanks
I do not know the difference between good and can multiecuscan
and I have no experience, I would use the program LanciaDelta I downloaded the google play.

I have a 2014 Lancia Delta GPL.
with torque can read data from the engine.
I can read the data from the engine even with the program Alfaobd demo, I can read the data engine, but if I go to all the darkened voices, not me do it.

when the adapter is plugged in, my burglar alarm, is not activated when I close the car!

I have attached the picture of the adapter I bought, someone I can 'help?
thanks to all
Mark

Hello Mark

Torque can only be the engine ECU read not any other controllers.

With AlfaOBD you should be able to read more.

Can you make a connection to the panel body computer or instrument?????

Using this tool as it is you cannot connect in controllers on CAN BUS
You need to remove the well known rezistor
Good luck

with alpha obd I can only read data from the engine, no one else.

I think my adapter obd read only, can not Bus.
kindly give me confirmation?

If I understand it, it is just to do a modification to the adapter;
How about a resistance to remove? which one?

I pointed out where you can see the change to do my adapter?

thanks;)

The rezistor it is the on one in parallel with the OBD II pins 6 and 7
You need to check it with a multimeter becasue it is a littel bit dificult to get to it
Good luck
