Writing Odometer on Alfa Romeo 156 JTD '02 with Dia K410

Post by error_empire » 26 May 2024, 19:25

Hi all,
I needed to replace my odometer as the old was defect. The new one has ca. 4000km less than the old one.
So I thought I can increase it via Multiecuscan. I connected to ECU (Bosch EDC 15C7). However under "F7 Adjustments" I could not see the option to write the odometer.

Is this option not available for an Alfa Romeo 156 or do I need an ELM327 device to do this?
What looked fishy to me: Under "F4 Parameters" I read out the odometer value, however Multiecuscan returned 0,0 km, which is obviously wrong.
Used version is V 4.8 and it is registered also.

Thanks for your help!

Cheers
Timo

BTW, I tried to upload some screenshots, however the forum system gave me an error that quota is exceeded, is this normal? How large is the quota exactly?

Odometer adjustments are done on the Dashboard or (less likely) Body Computer and NOT on the engine ECU.

If when you have selected your correct Alfa model in MES you do not see Dashboard or Body Computer then you will not be able to update the odometer reading with MES.

AlfaOBD may allow this but you will have to check.
