Fiat Panda 2004 1.2 8v on ELM327 1.2a

Post by croydonchris » 20 Aug 2010, 20:26

Hi all.
Is there anyone that has succesfully connected via ELM327 a Panda 1.2 8V 2004 to all ECUs or at least to the Power Steering and ABS.
I have modified my unit to run at 38400 Baud and can only see the Engine ECU under scan.
I have modified the OBD connector with a dip switch to swith pins 1 3 7 and 9 and still cannot connect to ABS or P S under Version 2.1 or see any ecu
other than the engine ecu under "Scan Modules" in 2.3.1 (free).
Regards ~ Chris

Hi, I have an update which may help others on this forum, (which incidentally is the best one I have ever been on).
My OBD Plug had the pins numbered wrongly and so I had wired my DIP switch incorrectly.
The correct numbering is as follows:-
As you look at the soldered pins side of the socket where the wires connect and with the widest part of the socket at the top.
Number 1 pin is on the top left. Number 8 pin is on the top right.
Number 9 pin is on the bottom left. Number 16 pin is on the bottom right.
Now I can see and can connect to the ABS as well as the Engine ECUs but not the Body ECU.
The Engine ECU will connect at 9600 or 38400 Baud.
The ABS ECU will only connect at 38400 Baud.
This is via the K lines to the ECUs.
Thanks to Yani for a superb piece of software. Regards ~ Chris

What modification did you do to make the ELM 1.2 work in 38400baud?
