Proxi Failure (Alfa 952)

Post by jmorrison757 » 24 May 2023, 01:40

Hey All,

Car is a North America Giulia, 2019. New to Alfa's, and my first Proxi Alignment didn't go well.

I tried a proxi alignment (custom) tonight and encountered several timeout errors. After encountering the errors, I have reverted the proxi configuration from custom back to stock and am still encountering errors in several modules. I also now have a CEL, Service Engine Message, and blinking odometer.

I performed the proxi with an ObdLink LX. I have a SGW bypass installed. And I did swap the cables as prompted during proxi alignment.

Any ideas on how to proceed? Any help is appreciated. Below is my latest log.

from first Multiecuscan homepage:
Bluetooth OBDKey, ELM 327 and OBDLink interfaces are fully supported but not recommended for special functions (like PROXI Alignment, remote control programming, IMA coding, etc.)!

Derp. Thanks... I have a USB adapter ordered now.

In your experience, is it likely any of the modules are bricked, or should everything be fine once I do a successful Proxi alignment with a correct adapter?

in my experience proxi has never bricked any modules so far ;) do proxi alignment with USB/wifi adapter and you'll be fine.

Thank god. I am a bit panicked with the number of lights on my dash because of the failed alignment. Thanks for the help and I will report back if I still experience an issue with the USB adapter. And I will definitely follow the user guide this time.

could you confirm that wifi version of icar vgate pro will do the alignment?

no I can't because I don't use wifi/BT

As it's a 2019 car, it is likely to have the Security GateWay (SGW). Thus I believe you will need an SGW by-pass to effect a Proxi Alignment.
