I have Fiat Barchetta 1998, serial number around 31000. Up to now I used adapter 16 pin OBD2 to 3 pin OBD1 and VAG KKL usb cable together with my Windows laptop and Multiecuscan software. I never had any problem to connect to my Barchetta's ECU and I could scan all the parameters anytime.
Recently I bought from Ebay Multiecuscan store ELM 327 Wi-Fi for IOS. I tried to use it with my IPAD Air 2 and free Multiecuscan from Apple store, but I was not able to establish the connection between Barchetta's ECU and my IPAD. Together with ELM327 I got also small CD, but it was completely empty and not readable. Please help me with some additional information! Do I need some special settings on my IPAD? Why there is a switcher on ELM327? I got no instruction manuals! Is it possible to connect ELM327 wifi IOS to laptop Windows Multiecusan or not?
Many thanks for any help in advance.

Hello to all. Please help...i have problem connecting to CAN modules in my fiat stilo. I have ELM 327 v1.5. It can connect properly to other modules (eg: engine) and erase error codes. But cannot connect to any CAN modules. I need your help....can anyone tell me how to modify my elm 327 in order to connect to CAN?
It's diffrent that one in this post .I post also photos of my elm 327 board...

Hello. I have same problem. Can connect to engine, but can't connect to CAN modules. My ELM 327 interface has a chip CH340G. I will post some pictures of the board and if some one can help me i would be grateful.
Thanks in advance.

hello, I have this elm I don't have the resistor.
I still can't connect with the can network,
the pins of the can network counting from the left are exactly the number 6-7 the cleanest ones with the pond.
they start directly from the integrated vc1040, (clone of TJA1040) thank you in advance for your help.

I’ve posted this to add to the library of images in this thread highlighting the large number of different elm327 circuit board designs.
To get my elm327 Wi-fi interface to work with a yellow adapter cable I removed the 120ohm resistor R4 shown below bridging pins 6 and 7 on the adjacent MCP2551 chip. The Wi-fi board plugs into this one using the 4 pin plug at the top of the photo
