cant connect

Post by alfatony » 21 Mar 2019, 13:34

Good afternoon
This no doubt will have been covered but its a mine field to search through and im not fantastic with computers

My cable came today. Going by the pics on the site its a basic blue KL/VAGCOM cable. Has 4 settings to switch between engine, airbag etc and a little 3" cd rom that came along with it. cd rom has 2 separate files on it but to be honest, I have no idea what or what not to download from it!

I'm clearly not doing something right or I have purchased the wrong cable as it wont connect. keeps coming up with the message "Error, Port1 does not exist"

Toshiba lap top, running windows 8
2005 alfa romeo 2.0 jts
multiecuscan 4.4 free

Just want to clear some fault codes as ive taken steps to remedy the faults and wish to know if its fixed!

Thanks in advance

Tony

You don't tell us exactly what you Alfa is. 2.0 JTS and years is not enough. Which Alfa model?

You can try try ELM327 interface. That should work. But make sure to scan for interfaces before proceeding. Once an interface has been found on one of the ports the software will indicate so. You may then establish a connection. Hope it helps.
