Position sensor calibration

Post by jte » 17 Jul 2017, 05:38

Hi,

I've replaced steering column for my 2001 Punto and I have following question.
When engine is running and steering is straight, the new column shows 167 decree relative steering postion.
When engine is shut down, it shows 0 decree.
When I perform the postion sensor calibration, is the engine running or shut down?
Software is doesn't specify this?

thank you

If its the same as the Bravo you need the engine running with it set to zero, you then start the cal and it will inform you to turn steering wheel full lock left then full right and finish with wheel straight ahead. Then press the button and cal should be complete.

If the steering wheel reading is so far out you will have to adjust a number of times until you get to zero as it will only cal within a certain range.

It was a while since I did mine.
