MIL flashing no errors in ECU

Post by Mikael » 16 Mar 2013, 13:55

Hi!

I have a Fiat Punto Natural Power yearmodel 2008, It has 2 ECU mudules that Control Engine, Magnet Marelli IAW 5AF GAS injection and Metatron 6A0 CNG injection. Version on Multiecuscan is 1.3. My problem is that MIL(Engine) lamp flashing when Engine is running, when I connect to the ECU:s with Multiecuscan, so is this no errors in ECU:s. Engine Works fine.

So I wonder if any one has else experience of these problems?

Hello Mikael, you perhaps have changed the timing belt also happen when you change, in this case you have to make learning phonic wheel.

HI!

Thanks for all tips.

I have now done a self adaption reset on both ecu:s whith MES software. MIL lamp still flashing.

MIL lamp started flashing after I had started the Engine, just a ordinary start. To solve my problems, I have replaced sparkpluggs, ignition cables and ignition coils, with no success, I have read on internet that ignition failures indicates with flashing MIL lamp.

If you did click on execute on some option for resetting engine ECU parameters you need follow this procedure:
1) warm up the engine
2) increase the engine speed three times to 4500RPM and keep it for 3 seconds each time.

It should work!

I have now done a Phonic Wheel Learning, while Engine runs on petrol (not on CNG), Engine temp over 80C, rev up engine from idle to over 5500, 3 times then turn off engine for 10s , then MIL lamp stopped flashing. But after 2 starts of the Engine, then MIL lamp started flashing again, I just done a new Phonic Wheel learn, and the lamp stopped flashing. So I hope that solved my problem, but I´m not so sure.

Try with CAN Setup/ Proxy alignment procedure if you have body comp.

I did a self adaptation reset and got the MIL flashing. Perform the reving but only about 4-4500 rpm and din not wait 10 sec before restarting the engine. The MIL was still flashing. Then I reved the engine again, 3 times up to 5000 rpm, waited 10 sec then restarted the engine. Everything is ok now, no flashing going on.
