I disputed your 100% claim that all cars ECU that show zero have been tampered with. May be true for some but not all so claiming 100% will uneccessarily frighten some people!

Fiat Croma EDC16/39 CF4 is a known case. (same ECU as AR159).

I have the above, from new and it has never been tampered with. Originally I could read an odometer value from the ECU many moons ago but then some FiatECUScan versions and time later the ECU mysteriously reported zero km and has done so ever since. Meanwhile the DPF odometer/distance etc. km counters in the ECU still work and for 'last replaced' shows a within tolerance value that matches the dashboard odometer. Explain that!

THIS IS A KNOWN ECU problem that others have also reported and has been discussed.
I agree with you 100%. ;)

Did change mileage in dashboard on few Italian cars and data in engine ecu still remained the same.
In dashboard is lower mileage but still everything works normally.
Mileages in dashboard and engine ecu are working separately - individually.

same mine. 0 on the ECU odometer. i'm not sure about the history of my car so i can't say on a 100% that 0 on the odometer is only a bug in the software or hardware. parameter "Odometer at the last DPF replacement" shows similiar value as a dashboard - strange... another strage thing is a fact, that odometer start to work after disconnecting the battery for a few hours.

are you sure that you talk about ECU EDC16C39 CF4 (Multijet)? or cars where you change the milage on dashboard have EDC15C7 CF3? problem with milage=0 occurs (in most cases) with ECU EDC16C39 CF4 (Multijet)

If you have EDC16C39 CF4 ECU and problem with 0 km in Odometer field, that means you probably need to do ECU update by official Fiat/ Alfa dealer... ;)

Thanks for response. But any details? What you mean update ECU? Can You tell me what is the latest version of software to EDC16C39 CF4?

I do not know which is latest version of software for EDC16C39 CF4!
Some people with Alfa 159 had the same problems and solution was "update by official FIAT dealer"!
Later they had possibility to read original km with MES!

Great news. I'll try to contact with the local Fiat dealer. Thanks!
