Alfa mito Multiair few wrong parameters

Post by EnIgMa » 04 Feb 2012, 16:50

Hi,
I've just tested this new 3.4 version on an alfa mito multiair 135hp marelli ecu.

I tested few parameters and i found that a couple are not correct.
Maximum RPM operation says: 0Km/h where it should be 6200 or around it.
Number of rewrites is 2 but the car is brand new...ok it would mean nothing.... just saying :)
Engine OIL temperature is 125C° where the real value is 60/61C°

Talking about this last one... i thought it could say that because the car doesn't have an oil temp. sensor?

Any explenation?

edit:
forgot this:

Thanks for reporting this, but I double-checked those parameters and all data is correct.
So, the 2 parameters (Maximum RPM and Number of rewrites) are correct.
The Oil temperature is also correct, but it is not the actual oil temperature. This temperature is calculated by the control unit based on other sensor readings.

?
They can't be correct...

Why ECU should use a completely different value?
For OIL temp.; in my humble opinion, the only explanation is that car doesn't have the sensor and ecu consider its max limit.

Anyway, for sure rpm limiter cannot be correct because an engine can't have an rpm limiter at 0rpm...
I tested it on some cars and it's correct...
For example on mine it said 6500 stock, then it said 6700 after chip tuning and now it says 7000rpm with last mod....
The same thing with different cars..

Yani,

Engine oil temp reading is wrong.

Temperature after 4 hrs:

Temp after 20 h:

~40*C difference...

Multiair engine have oil temp sensor in UniAir module. Part No: 55217822

Reading is wrong or sensor is broken... I'll check it in other MA 135HP engine.
