Injector coding on Punto 1.3

Post by tonyh » 14 Jul 2011, 09:43

Hello,

I recently change an injector thinking i will also change the IMA code by myself, but curiously it seems the hardest part of the work!
Indeed, i am trying to inject a new IMA code in my Punto but i have got always a "Failed to execute"..
My configuration is:
- Punto 02/2004, 1.3 JTD multijet
- Cable ELM 1.4 and Vag com KKL FTDI (i have both). I can execute every part of FES with both, except IMA coding..
- Latency for KKL changed at 1ms

With ELM i have no warning but code remains the same..
With vag com, i change numbers and letters but when i execute, i have a "Failed to execute" warning.. (very quickly)

So i need your help..
Thanks!
Tony

The Injector coding procedure for this ECU has problems with some ELM interfaces, but it works fine with VagCom/KKL.
So, please try it with the VagCom interface and send me a report after that by using the red "Send Report" button on Multiecuscan main screen.

Hm, you are probably using a very old version of Multiecuscan.
I have actually fixed this problem long ago.

Ok, I saw the report.
The procedure executed properly, however the ECU did not like the new code. The error after you tried to code the injector is "Value out of range".
This error is usually given when the new code is not correct.
Please double-check very carefully all letters/digits stamped on the injector. The code you entered is BAANBT3B1. It is sometimes difficult to distinguish between I and 1.
If all letters/digits are correct then it is possible that the injector is not suitable for your car?

Thanks Yani,

I will check tonight. I guess my injector is suitable as the bosch reference is the same than the 3 others.

Hello,

Something strange is happening with my new injector...
My new injector is a "trade in" with a new IMA code defined in a bosch test bench. I am now sure that multiecuscan is working as i can set every IMA code on Cyl 4 except this new one..
I have blamed the seller, who has checked the code on his own bench, it seems correct.. and now the injector is going to bosch to be checked.. I hope they can find a new code working on my car..

The seller told me that this code was not so much important, and that i can put a code close and it will work perfectly, do you confirm this?
Have you ever heard of IMA codes refused by the Ecu?

Thanks!
Tony
