"The operation has timed out" usually means that you have set incorrect port speed.

Thanks for answer Yani.

I tryed some diffrent port Speeds already, always the same message.
Is it possible that my Interface i bought has a fault. I wrote some Posts in
the forum that some Interfaces needs to be soldered for proper operation. :?:

Thanks Brera 32

Hi there

You need to set the speed to 38400 in order to communicate with the interface.

I had the same problem but reading the ELM327 datasheet reveals this information.

It appears as though you need the lead plugged into the vehicle and the ignition switched on in order to power the lead.

I have the same problem. Time-out when testing the connection. However, other applications like OBD2spy and easyOBD work fine.
It might indeed have to do with the required soldering on the Chinese adapters? But since the other applications work, I thought that it is an software issue?
I have a Fiat Bravo '07 1.6 mjet, and use an ELM bluetooth adapter.
