2004 Punto 1.4 Sporting FES Problem

Post by sixpotman » 06 Nov 2010, 19:39

I have the Registered Licenced version of FES 2.5 loaded,
a Genuine Gendan Elm 327 1.3a interface
and I am trying to reset the service notification on a 2004 Punto
Sporting 1.4 16v but I have not been able to do so.

The only thing I can communicate with is the engine
management ECU, which is the only thing registering
on the can search. Keeps saying Failed connection.

The system works fine on a 2003 Stilo 1.8 16v

Any idea's where I'm going wrong?

John

mm i don't know.
i can suppose that the service interval is not fully managed by engine ECU...

is your cable modified?

Cables not modified as it worked fine on a Stilo
and there was no additional pin marked on the pin list that Yani
has on this website for the service reset.

I have now linked pins 1 7 9 and 12 together tried it on the
stilo and have access to all modules except the airbags.
I also have the kkl interface which now has a switched
3 or 7 pin and can access the airbags with that on the stilo.

I'll retry on the punto at the weekend and see if it works with
the modified cable. Thanks for the answer.

Cheers John

Update
Tried the revised cables
KKL with pin3 connected -
result only available through Elm Interface???

Tried Elm3271.3a with pins 1 7 9 and 12 connected -
Result Engine ECU and ABS ECU available no other
ECU's available - will connect pin 3 and retry.

Has anyone else had any success connecting to the punto
produced just before the Grande Punto? as it either
uses different pins or the interface or software is
not compatable with the vehicle.

My father has a fiat punto 2004 1.2 8v.
This model: http://www.virtualtuning.it/images/foto ... 085_01.jpg
I tried almost all the FES features on it and i have no problem.
I used both elm and kkl cable (last one for others ecu then engine).
As I said, no problem.

But i never tried the service reset, and i can't try it now...

if i can help you in any way..let me know :\
I don't have anything in my mind right now.

After forwarding the reports - it would appear the
problem is with the Vehicle and not a software problem.
Either bad earths (Common Fiat Problem)
or the an ill fitting diagnostic plug in the vehicle is causing
interference with the interface.

If the car continues to run we'll sort the problem out when
the weather warms up. If it ain't broke then don't fix it !!!
