Service Reset 159 1.9JTDm

Post by skee » 20 Aug 2010, 09:48

Hi all,
I tried to do a service reset and each time I pressed "Execute" button the messege "Execution failed" came on the screen. However, after driving the car a few miles, I connected the multiecuscan again and looked at the service parameters....all parameters had updated, except the number of services now read zero. No service reminder has appeared since.

What I believe has occured is that by pressing the "Execute " button many times because thinking it had failed, the service counter had counted up to 9+.
Once the counter counts nine no further counts are made.

A great product. Skee.

Yes I think you have exhuasted the Service count. I don't believe it can be re-enabled.

I deliberately did 9 service resets on my Croma (just before Multiecuscan was able to do it) so that I don't have to worry about it again.

You will of course still get the Oil Change Warning and this will occur for the life of the car. You MUST reset this when you do an oil change. Failure to do so and ignoring the warning will eventually result in the ECU turning off DPF regeneration to protect the engine. Before long you will have a totally stuffed DPF which won't be abled to be force regenerated and a new one will be required. EXPENSIVE!
